AICF: Kind Attention - Eligible Players to participate in the Asian Youth Chess Championship - 2013 to be held at Iran from 19th to 27th June, 2013 as a donor entry the fee for the same is Rs.53,500/- towards Entry fee, registration fee, Board & Lodge in twin sharing basis only. For accompanying persons the fee of Rs. 45,600/- towards Reg fee, Board & Lodge in twin sharing basis only. We therefore request you to kindly confirm your participation on or before 15th May, 2013 along with passport details to the All India Chess Federation. The Demand Draft should reach AICF office on or before 18th May, 2013.

These four players will represent Andhra Pradesh State in National Under 7 (Boys & Girls) Chess Championship to be held at Pune (Maharastra State) from 1st to 9th May, 2013.


Under 17 Girls: 1. P Supreetha, 2. Sabbi Srirohitha, 3. Aasa Deepika K., 4. S. Akhila, 5. Ankitha Goud Palle.


Under 17 Boys: 1. Bala Chandra Prasad, 2. M. Chakravarthi Reddy.


These (2 boys & 5 girls) players will represent AP State in National Under 17 (Boys & Girls) Chess Championship 2013 to be held at Dibrugarh, Assam State.


In valedictory function Chief Guest K Ramachandra Reddy of A V Education Society distributed the trophies and cash prizes to the winners. Sri A. Narasimha Reddy, Vice President, AICF, Chairman – Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh presided over the function. Atluri Prateek of D.A.V. Public School, Safilguda won the 83rd Brilliant Trophy - juniors category by scoring 6 points out of 6 rounds while Meghanshram got second place with 5.5 points and A. Rohith got third place with 5 points.


V. Varun won the open categoty of 83rd Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament by scoring 6 points out of 6 rounds, while Deepthamsh Reddy got second place with 5.5 points and D. Suresh got third place with 5 points.

APCA: Souvenir of Raja Bahadur Venkatrama Reddy Memorial - In occasion of Raja Bahadur Venkatrama Reddy memorial anniversary, we inviting all chess players (International, National Medal Winners & all FIDE rated chess players with their bio data), Chess Coaches, Organizers (Official Tournaments & Fide Rating Tournaments - International, National, State level in the last ten years), Arbiters, APCA Members (All District Chess Associations) are requested to give their details and photos for printing the souvenir of Raja Bahadur Venkatrama Reddy (Kotwal of Hyderabad from 1920 to 1934. The Commissioner of Police of the City of Hyderabad used to be called the "Kotwal". It is one of the oldest offices and used to be the most powerful job in the Government).

PSPB and Air India wins the National Team Chess Championships - 2013



Open Category Winners

Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) won the HCA 33rd National Team Chess Championship with a round to spare. PSPB fielding an all GM's team won all their matches and finished with 18 match points from 9 matches. Indian Railways B and A team finished 2nd and 3rd respectively with 14 and 13 match points to their credit. PSPB beat Air India on the top table in the final round with a 3.5 - 0.5 score with sole draw coming from the 2nd board truce between GM Adhiban and IM Chandrashekhar Gokhale.



Women Category Winners

GM Abhijeet Gupta invasion through the b file on the 26th move was so swift, his opponent Satyapragyan’s counter attack never came to lime light and the game ended in 33 moves when material loss was inevitable.


In the corresponding women section as expected Air India completed the formalities with 14 match points by accounting for 3.5 – 0.5 win over Tamilnadu. Vaishali's half a point against WGM Bhakthi Kulkarni was a sole consolation, with the former having a better position when signing the truce.

National Team (Open & Women) Chess Championship - 2013 Live Webcast.

AP Under-17 Team won the Gold Medal at School Games Federation (SGF) Nationals 2012



SGF Nationals Gold Medal Winners

Andhra Pradesh Team under the leadership of V. Karthik has won gold medal in under -17 category of SGF Nationals held at Mumbai in the month of December, 2012.


The AP Under-17 team consists V. Karthik (Captain), M. Krishna Teja, V. Pranav Nanda, J. Agni and Manoj Kumar. Also it is the pride of AP Team to get three board prizes for 1. V. Karthik, 2. M. Krishna Teja, and 3. V. Pranav Nanda.


It is a proud moment for AP apart from U-17, U-14 Bronze Medal and U-19 Silver Medal. This is the first time AP is getting a Gold Medal in SGF Nationals. APCA congratulates the AP Teams for their achievements.

AP Players Won 16 Medals in Asian Schools Chess Championship 2012

Andhra Pradesh players won 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze medals in 8th Asian Schools Chess Championship 2012 held at New Delhi from 13th to 20th December, 2012.


Chinnam Vyshnavi won Bronze Medal in standard section of Under-7 Girls category. Bommini Mounika Akshaya won 2 Bronze Medals in standard and rapid sections of Under-9 Girls category. Raja Rithvik won Gold Medal in rapid section of Under-9 Open category. Kushagra Mohan won Silver Medal in standard section of Under-9 Open category. Potluri Supreetha won Gold Medal in standard section and Silver Medal in blitz section of Under-11 Girls category. Priyanka N won Silver Medal in rapid section and Bronze Medal in blitz section of Under-11 Girls category. Teja Suresh M won Bronze Medal in standard section of Under-13 Open category. Matta Theja Sahhethhe won 2 Gold Medals in standard and blitz sections of Under-15 Girls category. Aasa Deepika Kuditipudi won Bronze Medal in rapid section of Under-15 Girls categroy. Krishna Teja N won Gold Medal in standard section and 2 Silver Medals in rapid & blitz sections of Under-15 Open category. He is the only player from AP won medals in all three sections of the championship. APCA congratulates all the medal winners.

Congratulations! Commonwealth Chess Champion Lalith Babu



Grandmaster M R Lalith Babu was crowned the Commonwealth Champion 2012 at Apollo Engineering College Commonwealth Chess Championships 2012, Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Chennai on 1st December, 2012.


Along with Lalith Babu's championship title, Andhra Pradesh players R. Raja Rithvik bagged Silver Medal in Under-8 category, Harsha Bharathakoti won Gold Medal in Under-12 category, N. Krishna Teja won Silver Medal in Under-14 category, Pratyusha Bodda won Gold Medal in Under-16 category and Chandika Divyasree got Bronze Medal in Under-20 category along with 2nd International Master Norm.


In the prize distribution function Sri Krishnamachari Srikanth, Former Captain of Indian Cricket Team has also participated as a special guest of honor.

N Priyanka of Vijayawada has won the World Under-10 Girls Championship 2012 at Maribor in Slovenia on 18th November, 2012.

Congratulations! National Schools Chess Championship 2012 medal winners

Kushagra Mohan of Hyderabad won the Silver Medal in Boys Category and Bommini Mounika Akshaya of Guntur won the Bronze Medal in Girls Category of XXVI National U-9 (Boys & Girls) Chess Championship 2012 held at Ahmedabad, Gujarat from 1st October to 10th October, 2012.

Amarnath Inaganti, South Central Railway Sports Person, was elected as General Secretary for International Physically Disabled Chess Association (IPCA) at Istanbul, Turkey. IPCA is a body which works for disabled chess players and affiliated to World Chess Federation (FIDE).

Priyanka of Vijayawada won Six Gold Medals, the maximum by any player in the tournament, three each in Rapid, Standard and Blitz. And also Team Gold Medals in all three sections of U-10 Girls Category. Rahul Srivatshav won individual Standard Bronze Medal and got three Gold Medals in Rapid Team, Standard Team and Blitz Team sections of U-10 Open Category. Harsha Bharathakoti won individual Rapid Gold Medal, Rapid Team Gold Medal and Blitz Team Gold Medal in U-12 Open Category. Abhilash Reddy won individual Rapid Bronze Medal in U-18 Open Category. Kushagra Mohan of Hyderabad won 3 Medals in the U-8 Team Category. He won two Silver Medals each in Blitz and Standard Categories and a Bronze Medal in Rapid section alongwith his team members Pragnanandhaa of Tamil Nadu and Shah Aryan of Maharashtra. G. Lasya won individual Blitz Bronze Medal in U-16 Girls Category. She also won two Team Gold Medals in Standard and Blitz Categories.
