Inspired by the All India chess Federation, Andhra Chess Association launched Free Chess Training program to Government Home children as a part of Chess for every one through its affiliated units. First Camp inaugurated at Government Home for Girls at Visakhapatnam here at Ariilova by All visakha Chess Association. Superintendent of Government children home for girls Smt K SUNITHA inaugurated the program. KEN FOUNDATION of Visakhapatnam taken up this project in a long term basis by providing infrastructure like Chess Boards & Chess Material to all children. For the initial batch, Superintendent selected 30 students to get trained. Coaching will be monitored by All visakha Chess Association. Sr Coaches Mr V Srikanth, Mr M Ramakrishna, AVCA Secretary, Sri S manikanta Rao & International Coach Mr Chiranjeevi expressed their willingness to give training to home children ( Girls), Home (Boys ) & PAPA home children on weekly basis. Still to start batches at Home ( Boys ) and PAPA home children. Mr P SANTHOSH, founder & President KEN FOUNDATION developed this project which is brain child of Sri KVV Sarma, President, Andhra Chess Association and expressed willingness to support with CHESS MATERIAL/ BOARDS/CLOCKS to all children who are going to undergo training. Also through KEN FOUNDATION, Mr Santhosh promised to help the children to participate in various district/State & national tournaments including FIDE Rating tournaments. KEN FOUNDATION is going to co-ordinate with Government and Chess Association in smooth functioning of this project. Mr Manikanta Rao, Secretary, All visakha Chess Association expressed that their association team will work towards this project on rotation coaching basis and within 6 months some International Rated players would be originated out of this project. Senior Coaches like Ramakrishna M from Anakapalli & Chiranjeevi from Visakhapatnam said that they will create good professional players out of this project. Special thanks to Mr P SANTHOSH, President KEN FOUNDATION who has taken up this project on track by co-ordinating Government Home and All visakha chess Association. In his words when some professional players generated out of this project it will be a cycle and no need of regular coaching later stage which will be cycled in the respective home. As chess benefits education, KEN FOUNDATION has chosen this project which will help the children to improve academic skills and in turn which will help the home children in getting good scores in their academic performance besides professional chess. His main motive is not just a professional chess game teaching but to improve skills among the home children which make them in a right track and right direction. He thanked all the coaches who are volunteered this project free of cost. He assured the co-ordination with Home authorities for making children participated in the respective District/State/National competitions. Special thanks to superintendent of girls Home Smt K SUNITHA garu who have agreed and allowed KEN FOUNDATION and ALL VISAKHA CHESS ASSOCIATION to initiated this project in government Girls Home.
