VISAKHAPATNAM DISTRICT OPEN & WOMEN TEAM CHESS SELECTIONS-2023

Eligibility:-Only Visakhapatnam District players are eligible to participate. Payment of entry fee: ₹200 to be paid to the given account details:-

Last date of Registration : 8 pm 08-07-2023. No spot entries will be allowed.

Selections: Top 5 Open & 5 Women players will represent in the State Championship from the district and entry fee of these players will be paid by the District Association. Those who want to play as special entry in state championship should invariably participate in district selections. No special entry will be recommended without participating in district selections under any circumstances. Special entry fee to be paid by the respective players only.

Certificates: Merit certificates will be provided to selected players.

Venue: Sri Satya Sai Vidya Mandir, Chandranagar, Gopalapatnam, Visakhapatnam.

Schedule: Reporting time 8:30am. 09-07-2023(Sunday)

Food & Accommodation: For District Selections players have to look after their own arrangements.

Registration: ACA Registration Number is mandatory for all players . ( The registration can be done through apchess.org. Players are requested to enroll their registration through apchess.org. In case of difficulty they can contact chief arbiter. However in case if it is not possible for the player to register in apchess.org they need to send the ACA registration form to the organiser before the last date of registration. ACA form can be obtained from organiser.

Acceptance of entries: All Visakha Chess Association has reserve the right to reject or accept any entry if it feels fit as per the existing rules and regulations.

Rules & Regulations: Championship will be organised separately for Open and  Women

System of Play: Latest FIDE rules applicable. No of Rounds & Time control will decide as per number of entries Default time: It will be decided by the Chief Arbiter. Tie-Breaks: 1. Buchholz cut1;2. Buchholz all; 3. Sonneborn Berger; 4. Direct encounter; 5. Number of victories (inclusive of forfeit point); 6. Number of wins with black pieces(Optional)

Appeals Committee: Appeal Committee will be formed during the Players meeting. Protest if any shall be lodged within 15 minutes of the incident with a fee of Rs. 1,000/- to the Chief Arbiter . The protest fee will be refunded if the Appeal is upheld. Electronic Devices: Players are strictly forbidden to bring any electronic devices including wrist watch to the tournament hall.

Note: Players has to bring there own chess kits.
