Chess Outreach Touches Lives at Balura Vasati Gruham (BC), Guntur

In a heartfelt effort aligned with the “One Move Can Change a Life” initiative of the Andhra Chess Association, a special chess awareness and training session was organized at Balura Vasati Gruham (BC), Guntur, on the eve of International Chess Day.
The program was conducted under the leadership of Mr. Kumar Swamy, Senior Chess Coach, and was organized in response to a special call by Mr. Suresh, President of Andhra Chess Association. Though Mr. Suresh could not attend the session in person, it was his inspiration and commitment that laid the foundation for this impactful outreach.
Building a New Chess Culture in Guntur
Guntur, a district renowned for its educational spirit and sports culture, is emerging as a hub for chess promotion thanks to initiatives like this one. The Balura Vasati Gruham, home to several underprivileged and deserving children, resonated with joy and curiosity as they were introduced to the world of chess.
Coach Kumar Swamy, who spearheaded the session, has committed to weekly chess classes at the center. Moreover, he announced that promising children would be supported with advanced coaching and exposure to tournaments in the near future.
Inspired by Mr. Suresh’s Vision
Although not physically present, Mr. Suresh’s pivotal role in conceptualizing and initiating the event was deeply appreciated by the organizers and trust officials. Known for his consistent efforts to promote chess among underprivileged children across Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Suresh's initiative continues to motivate several coaches and academies to step forward.
“This program is a direct result of the vision shared by Mr. Suresh, whose efforts to make chess accessible to every corner of the state are truly commendable,” said Coach Kumar Swamy during the event.
This program stands as yet another meaningful milestone in Andhra Chess Association’s mission to bring the transformative power of chess into the lives of the less privileged.
