Check AICF’s Website: Only tournaments listed here are official.
Ask for Affiliation Code: Demand the AICF-issued registration number

Why It Matters?
Misleading Official Championships: Players miss the official championships due to the clash of the unofficial tournaments. Even some coaches mislead due to the strong bond between the unofficial associations/organizers and coaches. Parents be aware of it.
Sponsorships/fees paid to unapproved groups have no legal banking.
Fake certificates harm players’ future prospects.- Justice: Players/parents will not get the justice due to the unethical and unofficial tournaments. Players/parents can’t claim or can’t report to the governing chess body AICF as they already mentioned the affiliate units in their website.

As` per the governing Chess Federation in India- All India Chess Federation-AICF, The Andhra Chess Association is the only affiliated association and recognized by SAAP (Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh) and has the right to conduct Official Chess Championship and Selections in Andhra Pradesh State
Other associations named similar to Andhra Chess Association are misleading players/parents by claiming fake AICF recognition/fake news and confusing stuff in the whatsapp groups. Beware of such attracting, misleading information’s. Those associations are unauthorized/disaffiliated/banned Associations of AICF.
Organizing unofficial tournaments (results won’t count for AICF ratings or national selections).
Similarly, In Nellore, SPSR Nellore Chess Association is the only official and affiliate unit of Andhra Chess Association which is recognized by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) and affiliated with All India Chess Federation (AICF) which is recognized by Sports Authority of India (SAI)
