Subject: Establishment, Recognition, Branding & Regulation of Andhra Chess Academies

It is hereby informed to all District Chess Associations, Coaches, and existing Chess Academies that the Andhra Chess Association (ACA), as per the resolutions of the General Body Meeting dated 29-03-2026, has introduced a structured system for establishment, recognition, and regulation of Andhra Chess Academies across the State.

This circular consolidates all guidelines, procedures, and clarifications for implementation with immediate effect.


1. Objective

The Andhra Chess Academies are established to:

Promote chess among weaker sections and middle-income groups (MIG)

Ensure standardised coaching, syllabus, and certification across Andhra Pradesh


2. Eligibility for Establishment

Any individual who is a certified coach (FIDE / AICF / ACA / APCIS Trainer) is eligible

Recommendation from the concerned District Chess Association is mandatory

Final approval will be granted by the Convenor, Coaching Committee, ACA

3. Existing Academies – Adoption of ACA Branding

Existing academies are permitted to adopt ACA recognition without discontinuing their operations.

Approved Naming Formats:

Andhra Chess Academy – [Location]

[Existing Name] – An Andhra Chess Academy

 Existing identity and goodwill of academies will be preserved through co-branding.

4. Registration & Renewal

All academies must be registered with ACA

Annual renewal is mandatory

Fee structure: ₹2,000/- per year – Andhra Chess Academies

5. Revenue Sharing

10% of course fee to ACA ( ONLY FOR THE COURSES OFFERED BY ACA)

District Association share (if any) shall not exceed 10%

6. Coaching Structure & Courses

Syllabus will be prescribed by ACA Coaching Committee

Initial Program: Basic Chess Crash Course; Duration: 30 Classes; Course Fee: ₹1,000/-; 50% concession for Government School students

7. Examination & Certification

Examination is mandatory for ACA-certified courses

Certificates will be issued by the ACA Coaching Committee

8. Fee Structure – Non-Certified Courses

Academies are permitted to conduct independent courses other than ACA-certified programs.

Fee for such courses may be decided by the respective academy

However, These will be treated as independent programs and ACA certification will not apply to these courses. ACA name/logo shall not be used for certification purposes wrt independednt courses.

9. Branding & Usage of ACA Identity

Approved academies:

May use ACA logo and branding

Will be listed on www.apchess.org

However: ACA branding shall not be used for unauthorised or non-certified activities and Association with non-affiliated organisations is strictly prohibited

10. Application Procedure

Applications shall be submitted to: chessandhra@gmail.com
With:

District Association Recommendation

Coach Certification Proof

Academy Details such as email, contact number, premises address

11. Regulatory Authority

The Coaching Committee, ACA is authorised to:

Approve academies

Prescribe syllabus and courses

Conduct examinations and certification

12. Compliance & Disciplinary Provisions

Recognition may be suspended or cancelled in case of:

Violation of ACA rules

Misuse of ACA branding

Non-payment of dues

Complaints from District/ACA authorities

13. General Clarifications (FAQ Summary)

Existing academies need not change legal registration immediately

Co-branding is permitted to protect academy identity

Approval is subject to District recommendation + ACA approval

Academies may run independent programs, but ACA certification applies only to approved courses

ACA recognition is a standardisation and support system, not ownership takeover


14. Amendments

These guidelines may be modified by the Coaching Committee with approval of the President/Secretary, ACA, and will be communicated accordingly.


This circular shall come into force with immediate effect.
