Nikhil.M from Visakhapatnam exhibited his best ever performance in the VIJAYAWADA RAPID FIDE RATING TOURNAMENT. He secured 8 points out of 9 rounds (unbeaten). In this eigth round he drew with International Master Mr Raviteja besides a draw in his 4th round against Mr kishore from Tamilnadu. He won all other rounds and stepped up his spot from 13th rank to 2nd rank in this tournament. Presently he is having Elo Rating of 1939. Mr Nikhil pursuing MA pyschology in Delhi University. His father Sri M Simhachalam & Mother Smt Parvathi are very happy with NIKHIL's performance. He started his professional chess career at the age of 17. He was quickly drawn towards the game and started to perform well in regional open tournaments and he started to secure first places in district open chess tournaments when he was 17. Slowly he started to secure top positions in national rated tournaments.
NIKHIL's first achievement in professional chess career was winning bronze medal in inter school South zone chess championship. Also he stood runner up in 2nd Gujarat international open tournament Cat-B & secured runner up position in 3rd mother chess open tournament. On a question before him he replied that he usually prepare for his tournaments by himself through various online resources and mainly by analysing games played by him in his past tournaments. Also he wants to become an international master in future.
