Woman Fide Master Sahithi Varshini Moogi has attained her first WIM norm in Budapest Hungary in First Saturday IM Round robin tournament with a round to spare . She scored 5.5 points out of 11 rounds . Sahithi gained 69 points in the tournament  and took her live rating to 2210 with a performance crating of 2262 . Sahithi requires two more WIM norms to attain the prestigious WIM title. Prior  to this after two long years of pandemic , Sahithi begun her journey with two strong tournaments in Armenia , she increased 71 elo points in two tournaments in Armenia and increased her elo from 2070 to 2141 before  the tournament in Budapest and reached world no 6 in Fide rating world ranking in U14 girls . Sahithi also won U14 girls first place in chessmood GM Open tournament in Armenia .
Sahithi is two times Asian chess champion in U10 & U12 girls , also U10 girls  commonwealth gold medallist and has won 9 international medals for our country.
Sahithi begun her chess journey at the age of 8 years and her father Lokeswara rao is a manager in HPCL Visakh Refinery , vizag . Mr Lokesh has been the coach of Sahithi since childhood , He used to play in many chess tournaments in PSPB inter Refinery tournaments . Sahithi has won 9 international medals for our country . Her notable achievements were winning Asian U10 girls gold medals in classical and blitz formats in Uzbekistan and Commonwealth U10 girls gold medal at Delhi in 2017. Being one year junior to the tournament Sahithi  won 6 medals in Asian Youth chess championship at Thailand in 2018 . Sahithi  emerged as the champion in classical and Rapid formats and won bronze medal in blitz, she won 3 gold medals in Team championships in all three formats in the same tournament . Her queen sacrifice was appreciated by the world famous book author Jacob aagard (Published in chessbase india) 
Sahithis mother is a home maker and her sister Falguni is one of the youngest Female Senior national arbiter of our country .
