Mr Prasanth who came forward to give initial chess training to PAPA Home children started classes at Visakhapatnam on 14-06-2023. On the request of Mr KVV Sarma who has taken up this project statewide among HOMES , Mr Prasanth agreed for his voluntary services for all the HOMES at Visakhapatnam. Initially picked 20 each from Boys (Home), girls ( Home) at Arilova Visakhapatnam & PAPA (Home for boys ) , Visakhapatnam. After formal inaguration of program in consultation with HOME respective house authorities, started delvering classes from 14-06-2023. Each Home given 5 Chess Boards for the practice and each player will be provided Chess Board and 2 clocks to each home in later days once the basics are over. With the Aim of making children as professional players the mission is initiated. Once the children reach 18+ the professional chess will become an instrument for the career if they opts. Classes will be 3 days a week for each home seperately.
The main obect of the mission is to make the below 15 age kids as professional chess players besides their regular education and they have a goal within their possible parameters. Above 15 years kids will be trained to become professional coaches through which they can earn once they crosses 18 years age which will brings them back to the socieity as the HOMES are not entertaining 18+ kids. Professional chess will be a career for them if they opt to make their lively hood in better way. In addition as proved world wide basics of chess will create orientation skills like logical thinking, problem solving skills , analytical power which helps them in their academic career.
In the words of Sri KVV Sarma, President , ACA , within 6 months from all around homes expected to create minimum 10 International Rated players and the Kids to compete with respective age groups in District/State/National level. The mission is designed in such a way that once the 6 months cycle is completed, the trained people will train the new comers and it is cyclick process and no need of further regular training except guiding them.
Also added Mr KVV Sarma that the problem for Home children is with age groups Date of Birth ( valid ) certification which is not available for the home's children as of now. He said that the same issue will be discussed with All India Federation and expecting a special drive for the home children for age verification at their places only.
