Surada Yashaswi, a student of 10th grade at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, Kakinada, continues to shine as a rising star in the realm of chess, establishing himself as one of the top contenders in the country.
From 15th to 17th October 2024, the chess tournament saw intense competition, but Surada Yashaswi's strategic acumen and unwavering determination propelled him to the top. His victory in Guntur earned him a coveted spot in the National Under-15 Chess Open Tournament, set to take place in Tamil Nadu.
This is not the first time Surada Yashaswi has achieved such acclaim. Earlier this year, he captured gold at the 53rd Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan National Chess Sports Meet 2024 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He has proudly represented the KV Regionals, where he won an incredible three consecutive gold medals. Additionally, he has been selected thrice to represent his school in the School Games Federation of India, a testament to his consistent excellence.
The young chess sensation has also made a significant mark at various state-level tournaments from 2018 to 2024, amassing an impressive collection of 60 trophies throughout his illustrious chess career. His dedication to the game is boundless, as he continues to train relentlessly with a singular goal in mind—becoming a Grandmaster.
