A Mother’s Dream, A Son’s Rise – The Journey of Majji Ram Charan Teja

In the vibrant city of Rajahmundry, where tradition meets aspiration, a silent dream began to take shape—not in the heart of a child, but in the heart of a mother.

Mrs. Majji Naga Lakshmi, a determined single mother from a lower middle-class background, carried within her a dream she could never fulfill in her own childhood. Life had its limitations, responsibilities came early, and opportunities were few. But she made a promise to herself—her son would live the dream she could not.

That son is Majji Ram Charan Teja.

The Beginning of a Passion

From a very young age, Ram Charan Teja showed a natural inclination towards chess. Watching his cousins play, he would quietly join them, moving pieces with curiosity and joy. What started as a casual interest soon turned into a deep passion.

Recognizing this spark, his mother made a bold decision—despite financial constraints, she chose to invest in his future.

His journey formally began in 2017 under the guidance of his first coach, Pindi Hariprasad Sir. Within just a year, in 2018, he earned his official FIDE rating—an early sign that he was destined for bigger things.

Rising Through Challenges

The road was far from easy. Coming from a modest background, every tournament, every coaching session, every travel expense required sacrifice. But his mother stood like a pillar of strength, never allowing circumstances to limit his potential.

Before long, Ram Charan Teja began making his mark—winning district championships and steadily climbing the competitive ladder.

Then came the pandemic—a pause for the world, but not for his dreams.

The Breakthrough

In 2023, he achieved a major milestone by winning the U-19 Open State Championship at Anantapur. This victory was not just a title—it was a statement.

In 2024, he trained under Mr Hussainkhan, IA of Anantapuramu ( Super Kings Chess Academy ) through online coaching. More than just a coach, Hussain became a mentor and elder brother figure, shaping both his game and his mindset.

The results were extraordinary.

His growth continued with remarkable consistency, and in 2025, he proudly secured 3rd Place in the U-17 National School Games (Open Category)—a prestigious national-level achievement that placed him among the top young talents in the country.

A Star Emerges on the Global Stage

At the prestigious
Athens of the East 5th International Grandmaster Open Chess Tournament (Category B – Below 2000),
Ram Charan Teja delivered a phenomenal performance:

5th Place Overall with an impressive 8/9 score

1st Prize in Rating Category (1651–1800)

Won ₹70,000 cash prize

Awarded a Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 car

This was not just a victory—it was a breakthrough onto the international stage.

Strength Reflected in Numbers

His current ratings reflect his growing strength and consistency:

Standard Rating: 1897

Rapid Rating: 1811

Blitz Rating: 1916

These numbers are not just statistics—they are milestones in a journey powered by resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering belief.

A Crucial Turning Point

Today, Ram Charan Teja stands at a defining moment in his life. As he prepares to enter engineering, he carries not just his academic aspirations, but also the hopes of a mother who gave everything to support his dream.

He has now emerged into the Champions Club—a stage where talent meets opportunity.

But talent alone is not enough.

A Call to Institutions

This is an earnest appeal to leading engineering institutions:

Here is a student who has proven his excellence against all odds.
Here is a champion shaped by discipline, humility, and determination.
Here is a young mind that can bring pride, recognition, and glory to any institution that supports him.

Providing him with a free engineering seat and structured support will not be an act of charity—it will be an investment in excellence.

There is no doubt that Majji Ram Charan Teja will rise as a star, carrying the name of his college to national and international acclaim.

The Dream Continues

A mother’s unfulfilled dream has now found wings.

A boy from Rajahmundry is ready to take on the world.

And somewhere, between sacrifices and victories, a story is still being written—
one that deserves not just recognition, but support.

The journey has just begun.
